Final Slate of Candidates

The True North Nominating Committee has named Karen Morgan, Mark Troupin and Justin McKoy as their candidates for the three Board seats that expire in 2024. Below is information about the nominated candidates:

Karen Morgan (Incumbent)

Karen has lived in Alaska since 1978. Her professional experience includes several Deputy Director and Director positions focusing on information technology within the Department of Administration and administrative management with the Department of Public Safety. After leaving state service, Karen served as CEO of Wostmann and Associations, Inc., an information technology company and then as a consultant following her “retirement”. She is an active community member, serving on community boards such as Rotary Club of Juneau, where she currently serves as the Foundation Chair, and the former Alaska Public Broadcasting, Inc. Karen has served on the True North Board of Directors since 2018, serving as Chair of the Personnel Committee for several years.

Mark Troupin (Incumbent)

Mark Troupin is a former Navy submariner, who has lived in Alaska since 1995. He first volunteered for the Credit Union’s Loan Audit Committee before his election to the Board in 2010 and is currently serving as the Board Treasurer. Mark is the General Manager at Juneau Auto Mall and has 34 years in automotive sales and service industry. Mark is active in the Juneau community, including other service on local community organizations such as Glacier Valley Rotary and the on the Board of both the Bartlett Regional Hospital Foundation and Juneau Navy League.

Justin McKoy (Sataan Éesh) (Incumbent)

Justin McKoy (Sataan Éesh) is a Lingít from Angoon, is a lifelong Alaskan currently living in Juneau, Alaska. He has worked in public accounting for three years and has five years of experience working as an accountant for not-for-profits and native organizations. Justin attended the University of Alaska and holds a BBA with an accounting emphasis from the University of Alaska Anchorage. He enjoys spending his free time attending various arts and cultural events, weightlifting, and lounging in the sand or on the water at one of Juneau’s various beaches when the weather permits.
